Snorkeling

Not everything in the ocean is limited to be seen by those who dive and it needs to be said that many of the popular dive sites in Indonesia are great spots for snorkeling.

It is important to know that ninety percent of reef life lives in the top 10 meters of water, so snorkelers will not miss out on anything by not diving.

Obviously scuba diving and snorkeling are different activities. However, unless you are very familiar with each, you might not fully realize the crucial difference.

A white sand beach fringed with coral and populated by numerous juvenile reef fish usually makes an excellent location for snorkeling but is not necessarily the right spot for diving. Our experience has taught us that it is difficult to mix divers and snorkelers because the dive sites are suitable for snorkeling under completely different tide conditions than they are for diving. The crucial factors when selecting reef sites are visibility, current and depth. If shallower than 5m sites are perfectly suitable for snorkeling but of little interest to divers.

We are location experts as well as diving specialists. We know the right sites and the right times for each activity. Our trips are primarily designed with SNORKELING in mind. We teach you not only the basics, but also the special skills to make you a better snorkeler. In addition, during the trip, if you wish, our staff may offer you an intro-dive over shallow reefs close to the shore.

Pelagictour offers snorkeling safari packages to the best areas in the Indonesian archipelago. An important factor in the selection of the destinations we travel to is whether we can combine world class snorkeling sessions with an equally inspiring experience on land.

Our trips are family friendly and our guides will take you to some amazing sites and interesting villages to provide the best possible mixture of snorkeling and safari experiences.
